Kimberly Rennie was admitted to the practice of law in New Jersey in 2001 and admitted to practice in New York in 2002. She joined the firm in 2002 and became a Partner at Javerbaum Wurgaft Hicks Kahn Wikstrom & Sinins (formally Ceconi & Cheifetz, LLC) in 2010. Kimberly Rennie recognized her passion for the practice of Family Law while employed as a paralegal prior to attending law school and has practiced family law exclusively throughout her career. She is compassionate, understanding, detail-oriented and highly motivated to deliver successful results for her clients. Ms. Rennie is committed to helping families and children cope with the difficulties of navigating through the divorce process utilizing her years of experience to achieve and surpass each client’s goals and expectations.

Successful Litigator and Mediator

Kimberly Rennie has devoted her practice to matrimonial and family law matters, including divorce, child custody and parenting time, alimony, child support, equitable distribution, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence and mediation. Ms. Rennie has proven to be a successful litigator having aggressively conducted trials, motion practice, plenary hearings as well as negotiated countless settlement agreements in lieu of continued and/or protracted litigation. Ms. Rennie is also a licensed mediator conducting private mediation as well as court appointed economic mediation achieving mutually satisfactory results to all parties.

Education and Experience

Kimberly Rennie is a graduate of Rutgers Law School, Newark, New Jersey. Ms. Rennie is a Blaustein Scholar from Rutgers Law School and served on the Woman’s Right’s Law Reporter and was an intern with the Rutgers’ Family Law Clinic. Ms. Rennie also interned with the Union County Prosecutor’s Office in 2001. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Rennie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kean University receiving her Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 1995, and an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Accounting from Union County College in 1992. Following graduation from law school, she served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Hon. Melvin S. Whitken, J.S.C., presiding Judge of the Superior Court, Family Part, Union County for the 2001-2002 term. Prior to, and during, her attendance at Rutgers Law School, Ms. Rennie was employed for twelve years as a paralegal with an emphasis in the practice of Family Law. In May of 2007, Ms. Rennie successfully completed the American Bar Association Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute, a 9-day intensive trial program sponsored by the ABA in Houston, Texas.

Recognitions and Associations

Kimberly Rennie is a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association, Family Law Section, Union, Essex and Morris County Bar Associations, Northern New Jersey Inns of Court and Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

She is also a Co-Chair of the Union County Family Law Committee and serves as a Union County Early Settlement Panelist and Blue Ribbon Panelist since 2007. She is an accredited and certified Economic Mediator with the State of New Jersey. She is also presently an active member of the Executive Board of the Union County Bar Association. Beginning in 2006, Ms. Rennie was named to Super Lawyers and has been named one of the 10 Best Attorneys by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. She has lectured for the Union County Bar Association on various topics impacting Family Law.
